Removed red colorcast on reef | Athila
(1503) [2006-04-09 10:56:00] | | I just selectively removed the red color cast on reef, and left the red saturation of the fish wich now contrast better against the cooler BG. |

(1719) [2006-01-10 16:51:19] [1] | Hi Athila, just an experiment how it looks with more "umph" to the colours: Added 20% saturation, adjusted colour balance: added reds, especially to shadows. Used PS CS for editing.

(11417) [2005-12-01 05:20:20] [1] | | I found the fish in the background slightly distracting. So I cut out the section containing the bulk of the fish (in Photoshop). Then reposition the border to match your original. then use clone tool with bits of rock from elsewhere in the shot to hide the rest of the fish. finally 50% USM to just slightly sharpen the image. Now I think this beautiful fish attracts all the focus of the viewer. Hope its of some use. Cheers, Chris. |

(1503) [2005-11-21 22:30:50] | | I did this WS to help you to identify the shape of the fish since it's camouflage make it difficult to see. I hope it will be useful. |

(1503) [2005-11-21 22:28:53] | | I did this WS to simulate how we see colors 15 meters deep without artificial light. Warm wavelenghts are absorbed by water leaving only a blue-green cast. I hope it will be useful. |

 Fish informations | Athila
(1503) [2005-11-20 13:30:46] | | I made this WS to indicate eye and mouth that are not to obvisus in original picture since this fish is highly efficient in camouflage. Please note that we see well the red color here because I used a flash at a short range. I was about 10 meters deep. At that depth, red is no longer visible if only lit by the light coming from the surface and it looks like dark brown, which increase camouflage effect. |
