Hi Doug, I have done a workshop to try and illustrate Niek's comments about the sky, normally the easiest solution would be to use a polarizer filter but this is how I achieved the same effect in photoshop. First in the Hue/Saturation palette I adjusted the saturation to bring out the colours and then brought the lightness down slightly. Then I copied the layer on top of the original layer used levels to darken the sky and used the layer mask and the gradient tool (set on foreground to transparent) starting half way into the shot draged upwards so that the original layer underneath is revealed at the bottom half of the picture only and the sky remains dark to give the effect of a polarizing filter. Then I flattened the image. Hope this makes sense, easier than it sounds.
Best wishes,
Dean.

Hi Janice, just simply cropped in photoshop and framed using the canvas size menu. It just enhances your beautiful work more.

Hi Norbert, nothing wrong with this shot, just thought the shell of the ladybird needed a lift. Therefore I drew a clipping path around it in Photoshop, changed the path into a selection and then changed the hue and saturation sliders until I felt happy with the colour but still trying to keep it looking natural.
Best Wishes,
Dean.

Adjusted levels in Photoshop to give more dark tones. Then I added a bit more magenta using the variations tool to warm the colours up slightly. Then added more saturation to bring out the yellows and greens and to finish off I used the unsharp mask tool to sharpen the image and the rubber stamp tool to remove the dark area in the top right corner.
Best wishes,
Dean.

Hi Ana, just thought I would show you what I was referring to in my critique. I used the rubber stamp tool in photoshop to remove background colours and then framed in white.
Kind regards,
Dean.

Hi renato, I have done a workshop of your beautiful flower to try and enhance it a bit more. First I adjusted the highlights and mid tones using levels in Photoshop. Then I added more saturation. I then used the airbrush tool with the colour black to get rid of the distractions in the background. I used various sizes of soft brush with about 25% hardness to maintain the softness of the petals. I then added more height to the canvas size and used the airbrush tool again to angle the flat edge on the flower in the top right corner. Then I cropped the image to get rid of the bottom part of the stalk.

Best Wishes,

Dean.

Hi Sebastien, I used levels in Photoshop and adjusted the midtones and highlights on the histogram. I also added a bit more saturation and cropped some of the unecessary detail at the bottom. Hope you like.

Best Wishes,

Dean.
