(426) [2005-07-26 20:00:31] [2] | Hi Daniel, this is my first workshop so please bear with me.
I have smudged out the background above the head a little as I found the white branch distracting. Cropped a little at the top and bottom to make the image bolder and because of the existing tight crop on the left also taken a bit on the right.
The original posted was a bit washed out, often a factor or ordinary light on lions. I have decreased blue, darkened a bit and saturated a little. This brings out the more natural lion colour and adds a bit of punch. I also smudged out the small spot in the bottom left of the lions mouth as it was distracting. Sharpened just a touch and added a black frame to pick up and compliment the black of the nose and mouth.
You could have posted the image a little larger to utilise the image space allowed. If you are worried about the file size being under 200kb then rather adjust compression.
Also when cropping, and I like tight portraits as you will see when I upload more images, you should always allow room for the animal or bird to look into (if it is looking to one side). I might even have cropped some of the ears and more of the right here if the image had been larger.
Hope you like it and find it useful.
Regards, Rob. |
