(2884) [2009-10-06 11:43:19] [1] | Hi Angela, for this shot I used levels and a saturation layer to reduce the blue cast, then I sharpened marginally to complete the work. In levels I increased the red mid-point to 1.15, and decreased blue to .85. In a saturation layer, I decreased blue and cyan by 30 each and increase green by 10. On a separate layer I sharpened the image with smart sharpen, then masked the periphery around the deer. I hope this meets with your approval. I have removed the copy from my terminal.

(2884) [2009-07-15 07:32:22] [1] [+] | Hi Kedar, in this workshop I wanted to make the bird stand out a little more, while still maintaining that stare of his. To do this I cropped, and with this I kept the right eye on the centre plane (kind of a Mona Lisa approach) to keep the illusion of the stare. I also raised the bird within the frame. To complete the job I increased the size a bit, so it may look a little pixily, but I was hoping to provide a fair comparison. I then sharpened to bring it back to its original state, and added the frame back in. I hope this meets with your approval. I have removed the copy from my terminal.

(2884) [2009-07-10 12:54:44] [1] | Hi Don, in this workshop I wanted to focus more on the bird and his reflection. I did this by first cropping out much of the area around the bird. On a larger file this would of course be much easier. I then boosted the contrast with unsharp mask (15, 30, 1). I then duplicated the layer and sharpened with smart sharpen (100,.7). Since I had drastically cut the size with my crop I added a white frame and cut and pasted your name back on the print. I hope this meets with your approval. I have removed the copy from my terminal.

(2884) [2009-07-07 06:13:57] | Hi Achim, in this workshop I mainly wanted to boost the saturation a bit. I was fighting with the 200K limit imposed on workshop copies so I actually boosted it a little more than I might have normally and increased the contrast a bit to make the smaller file size copy "appear" with a little more definition.
To do this I first used unsharp mask (15, 30, 1) to boost the contrast a bit. I applied a mask to tone down the brush around the animal. I then increased saturation +30 and masked down the brush a bit again.
I hope this meets with your approval. I have removed the copy from my terminal.

(2884) [2009-05-14 07:20:02] [1] | Hi Ram, I wanted to see how the butterfly would look with a different orientation, heading up in the screen, towards the light (now on the right). I don't know the plant, so this may seem totally wrong to those that do, but in this case I am trying to emphasize the butterfly. The plant to me is a nice colour backdrop.
I hope this meets with your approval. I have removed the copy from my terminal.

(2884) [2008-06-24 03:40:35] [1] | Hi Jon, in this workshop I was looking to reduce noise in the background and do some selective sharpening on the duck. To do this I selected the background, and reduced noise. I then inversed the selection, and duplicated the layer. I then sharpened on the selection of the duck. I actually oversharpened a bit, then with a layer mask I toned down any haloing seen on the edges of the duck by painting the layer mask with a black 70% opacity brush. I hope this meets with your approval. I have removed the copy from my terminal.
