(2884) [2009-07-07 06:13:57] | Hi Achim, in this workshop I mainly wanted to boost the saturation a bit. I was fighting with the 200K limit imposed on workshop copies so I actually boosted it a little more than I might have normally and increased the contrast a bit to make the smaller file size copy "appear" with a little more definition.
To do this I first used unsharp mask (15, 30, 1) to boost the contrast a bit. I applied a mask to tone down the brush around the animal. I then increased saturation +30 and masked down the brush a bit again.
I hope this meets with your approval. I have removed the copy from my terminal.

(1427) [2007-12-04 03:31:38] | Added some contrast and saturation, and used a crop. I didn't mean it as a correction but showing in a different aspect! Please let me know if my thought be good or what is wrong with it!
Best regards,

(14396) [2007-12-03 13:10:31] [3] | | I removed some of the noise and changed the frame. I think the dark frame feels less constraining. The image visually feels more open... even wider... though it isn't. Now the area of greatest contrast is the small ice floe focal point in foreground and the mountains against the light sky and sea. I think the viewer's eye will go to the focal point and then across the bay to the sea beyond. It even points us in that direction. In the original the highest contrast area is along the bottom edge... not the place you want the viewer to get stuck. : ) |
