I changed it only for those who do not know the science of which I am speaking...and then a slight noise removal which was only there because of the darkness as we all in digital know:-)

PS Niek is not wrong...because there is no such thing in this nature shot....nor am I sure anyone would see it the same way as you nor I! |

 Levels adjustment | SunToucher
(10175) [2008-12-18 04:41:02] [5] | | The original was very under exposed, with only information in the shadow area of the histogram. I have adjusted the highlight slider in the levels so that it would meet the available information. Since it was under exposed this causes a fair amount of noise. I did a quick noise reduction on the photo. |

(2884) [2008-05-28 01:04:59] [2] [+] | Hi Joshua, in this workshop I started by straightening the shot a bit more. I then cropped, trying to maintain as much of the original as possible. I then bumped up the contrast a bit with USM with a high pixel, low amount adjustment. I increased the saturation to +25 on master. I did this while looking at "View - Proof Colours" to try to make it as realistic as possible for viewing on the net. Finally I sharpened. To do this I duplicated the layer, and sharpened with smart sharpen. I then added a mask layer to mask out the water, as it didn't look good sharpened. I hope this meets with your approval. I have removed the copy from my terminal.

(27919) [2008-05-21 20:37:18] [2] [+] | I liked it...so I messed with the contrast, noise, size and a small filter...then signed for you. I love my mountains. I consider myself a mountain man..and if you have ever seen some of videos, maybe you might know..but the mountains are my home and your images are a piece of me as well as what you see....Great work Josh! Not me! You!

(2530) [2008-05-13 22:35:04] [2] [+] | Hi Joshua , what I have done using the free program PhotoFilter , is crop the bottom a bit , added a frame , and took a wee bit of blue out and added a wee bit of red, then increased the contrast a touch.
hope that you like it

(10031) [2008-05-01 03:36:53] [5] [+] | Hi Josh
As I said I just tried to naturalise the image somewhat to that what the eye might have seen with the original scene on the mountain. Due to the setting sun the light on most of the mountain area became slightly darkish and obviously the camera cannot interpret it the way the eye sees it.
So, I adjusted the "Shadows & Highlights" settings (to make the highlights slightly darker and the darker areas slightly lighter), the "Brightness/Contrast" settings (mostly to the sky area to increase the dramatic appearance of the clouds), applied a little blue hue to the cloudy sky (to slightly counter all the overly accentuated greys), and finally a slight bit of "Un-Sharp Masking" (just to enhance the full potential of the image and "perk-it-up" a bit). Anyway, it is just another version or another way to look at it and I hope you approve of the optimisation.
Best regards

(2884) [2008-05-01 00:52:27] [3] [+] | Hi Joshua, in this workshop I wanted to increase the local contrast and sharpen it a bit. To do this I used USM and adjusted it with a low amount high radius. I then sharpened with smart sharpen very slightly. I hope this meets with your approval. I have removed the copy from my terminal.

(2530) [2008-04-21 18:03:51] [2] [+] | Hi Joshua , hope you do not mind but I did a work shop on your photo , in photoshop elements I adjusted the lighting curves , dropping the input level for black and the output level for white , subtracted some blue , increased the contrast , further adjusted lighting by lightening shadows , and darkening highlights , then auto corrected color. I also tried to selective sharpen the foreground flowers using the magic selector but that only worked a little.
hope you like it.
