 luminance channel | sandpiper2
(14119) [2008-05-27 05:43:10] [1] | I used NeatImage to sharpen it a bit, set at 155%. I do this on all my images now, I don't sharpen them in PS anymore, I wait until I'm happy with the shot, resize then in NI I do any noise reduction that's require and use the luminance channel to sharpen. Works great.
cheers

(10) [2008-01-03 11:35:18] [4] [+] | | Cropped, adjusted levels, curves and sharpness. Extended the leaf into the background to remove the elements that distract your eye away from the subject (even though a lot of purists won't approve, and I normally wouldn't do this for a NH image, but I was in the mood to play further in PS). Also darkenend the background using the burn tool and lightened the cicada using the dodge tool as the subject should usually be lighter than the background - subject to subject matter of course. |

(5366) [2007-12-19 09:15:08] | In PS I isolated the background with "Magnetic lasso". Then I used "Shadow/Highlight" to darken it. With "Reverse" I marked the animal and foreground, lightened it with "Shadow/Highlight". With "Blur" I treated the grainy background. I may have overdone some of the operations. I hope you still think well of the proposition.

Levels on the lighter end of the histogram moved in. 20 yellow taken out on the colour balance and a slight sharpen in unsharp mask at amount 80, radius .3, threshold 0.
Hope you like.

(24727) [2007-11-26 06:07:40] [2] | Hi Steve,
I used CS3 to generally clean up the photo.
-Used Un-Sharp Mask
-Increased saturation
-Added more contrast
-Did a bit of cloning around edges to eliminate some pixeling
-Added a thin black border
I hope you like it!
Cheers,
Joe |
