(232) [2007-11-15 01:21:22] | Hi Steve.
Put the curves grey eye-dropper onto a rock I know is grey and the colour has altered removing some yellow.
As always, individual preference and you were the one there on the day and know what it really was. I am only relying on memory and photoshop.
Regards

I have croped a little part of your picture, selected the sky and then cloned the upper left part in order to give an idea what the same picture could be without the sky that - from my point of view - does not improve the picture.
Kind regards

(10) [2007-10-11 10:24:57] | Hi Steve
Nice shot of the Weta. On my screen the whole image has a strong yellow cast which I suspect has been introduced to counteract a blue cast. I have used the curves tool in Photoshop and adjusted the blue channel to reduce the yellow. Does that help bring the colour back to a more neutral white balance?
Cheers

Colour & Levels Correction and Crop | elizabeth
(10) [2007-10-07 13:35:06] [1] | Hi Steve
Thought a slight adjustment in colour and levels, and a slight crop from the left to remove the rock on the edge of the frame (which competes for interest with the subject) would give your image more impact. The Kea is still centered in the frame as you noted you liked it's central composition.
The colour and levels adjustment are:
+2 Red / +24 Blue (midtones only)
Input level (highlights) 230
I had felt the image was too yellow, hence the colour correction, while the level adjustment was to lift the contrast a little.
Cheers

 Crop & Colour | Kathleen
(232) [2007-09-24 04:42:39] | Used the colour balance to add some blue which takes out yellow and took out some green which adds magenta. This brings that cream colour back into the labellum and does not make the moss look quite so lime coloured.
Cropped the bright light out of the top right and cloned some green over a couple that were left, this brings the attention back to the orchid. You have a great composition here and it's a shame when a distraction keeps taking the eye away from that. Slight sharpen in unsharp mask.
Hope you like,
Kathleen |
