(3519) [2008-04-08 09:28:29] [3] | For those who may not understand Photoshop Elements 4.0 tool usage I have tried to write out clearly the steps I have taken for this worhshop.
Saved Luis' image to my files and uploaded into Photoshop Elements 4.0 workspace, using crop tool I cropped left side and less of right to enlarge bird and bring more attention to it.
Then clicked Enhance, moved curser to Adjust Lighting, clicked Levels and moved left top slider to the right upping input levels to 15 to saturate color more.
Then went to Magnetic Lasso tool and used to outline birds head, belly and upper wing bars to isolate for sharpening. Then went to and clicked Filter, moved to Sharpen, clicked Unmask Sharp and sharpened with settings: Amount 100%, Pixels .3, Threshold 0. Then saved to my files for web with horizontal sides set at 750 pixels and quality aprox 195K. Then uploaded to TN. |

(12517) [2008-03-27 15:47:00] [5] | | I wanted to put a little more emphasis on the bird so using a Levels adjustment layer I darkened the background then brightened the bird. I added a neutral tone border which visually recedes so that the higher contrast bird would visually advance with a sort of 3-D effect. |

correction of the dominance color | CeltickRanger
(7002) [2008-02-06 18:28:26] [4] | hello Luis
in your image there is a dominace of the red or magenta tones,
i have done that correction with Levels one
of my favorite tools in Photoshop
- my white points (highlights) are already set at 5% of dot,
to set it at 5% of dot, you click on the white points pipet
and then you go for :
H 0%
S 0%
B 95%
- my balck points (shadows) are already set at 95% of dot,
to set it at 95% of dot, you click on the balck points pipet
and then you go for :
H 0%
S 0%
B 5%
you do save, and with this you can do many colors
correction of dominant colors
to dit it, i just tell Photoshop to do a Auto levels
now with the correction in the ground of your image
there is no more the dominance of red tones
i hope you like it the workshop
thanks
