I think that the brightness of the snow competes with the white of the stream due to the slow shutter speed. I wanted to see if it were possible to put more attention on the stream. I cropped and darkened some of the snow. I cropped off the bottom and left only stream there to draw the eye in. I cropped just below the really interesting flow patterns on the right side of the stream. I also brightened the rocks there so more attention would go there rather than so much to the white snow on the left side. I also brightened the background light at the head of the stream, to draw the eye up the stream toward the light. I think that also adds more depth to the image.

I can see from the thumbnail that this workshop uploaded lighter than I intended : P Anyway, I tried a very slight rotation to the right to make the water feel flatter from bank to bank, not to flatten its downhill flow. I lightened up the underexposed areas to help add some more depth to the image. Being able to see through the trees adds another layer. I also removed a tiny bit of the photographic blue cast to make it a little more natural to my eye. I know, I know...I'm too fussy! : P It's all just personal opinion and worth the price charge...nothing! : )

I figured a bit of cropping the sky out as well as the bit of roadway helped put more emphasis on the wonderful carpet of leaves and the vertical lines of the tree trunks rising out of the forest floor.
The crop gives it more of a pano feel as well.

Hi Patrick
I tried to bring out more detail and colour in your mid day shot. I did a colour adjustment and also sharpened to bring more definition to the grass. I hope you like the look.

bonjour patrick
