Hi Don, in this workshop I wanted to focus more on the bird and his reflection. I did this by first cropping out much of the area around the bird. On a larger file this would of course be much easier. I then boosted the contrast with unsharp mask (15, 30, 1). I then duplicated the layer and sharpened with smart sharpen (100,.7). Since I had drastically cut the size with my crop I added a white frame and cut and pasted your name back on the print. I hope this meets with your approval. I have removed the copy from my terminal.

I used The Gimp but I'm sure ps and others are able to do this:
1. duplicateed layer
2. moved it ~2px up and right
3. set transparency mode to substraction (left opacity @100%)

We're done: the 30 sec line is gone.
But be careful: as you can see the paler stars disappeared! Some play with br/contr. and stuff like that and you can leave them visible too.
