(3278) [2008-09-12 13:51:31] [1] | Hello Karl,
So that the Ibis was not bumping its beak on the edge of the frame, I used PSE and enlarged the canvas.
I then cloned the b/g into the new space, which gave the bird space, into which to fly.
I then selected the head and feet with the magic wand and lightened the shadows by 25% so that the features were a little more obvious.
Lastly, I sharpened a little using unsharp mask.
I hope you like the finished result.
Kind regards,
Bev :-) |

(3278) [2008-07-27 02:22:24] | Hello Aamer,
I have done very little to alter your original other than crop it carefully to give an off-centre composition.
I hope you can see the difference in the attention that it creates.
Kind regards,
Bev :-) |

(3278) [2008-07-06 07:10:15] | Hello Janice,
Using PSE:
1. rotated the shot 3 degrees right (that made a better compositional angle coming from the right corner)
2. cropped shot
3. removed a little noise with blur tool
Hope you like it.
Kind regards,
Bev :-) |

(3278) [2008-06-25 07:45:18] | Hello Gannesh,
I have discovered a simple way of removing 'noise' from shots.
I will share it with you.
Just use the blur tool and move it over the background area. The noise disappears like magic!
Kind regards,
Bev :-) |

(3278) [2008-06-20 00:23:37] [1] | Hello Umar,
Your shot was already close so I had less area to play with but I hope you can feel how the interest is fely on the off centre version.
pp simply cropped
added soft light layer at 30% opacity to enhance the colour depth
Kind regards,
Bev :-) |

The Story of the Jackdaw. (30) Royaldevon

(3278) [2008-06-10 12:11:20] | This is a shot of a jackdaw next to the feeder in my garden. As you can see, it is cleverly pulling the bag out of the feeder.
It does attack the fat ball whilst still in the feeder but finds the removing of the bags a more profitable way of getting food! |

(3278) [2008-06-05 09:05:33] | Hello Pushpinder,
The portrait style makes your flower appear more elegant.
Using Photo Shop Elements:
1. enlarged the canvas
2. cloned the b/g into the new space
3. cloned the stems into the b/g
4. cropped edges
I am not suggesting that you would alter your photograph like this all the time but that you turn your camera into portrait when doing this type of shot.
Hope you find this useful.
Kind regards,
Bev :-) |
