I am not sure if the difference in sharpness is visible since I only added a small dose. The settings were 100/0.3/0. I masked the OOF areas so to not add any grain.
I cropped out the frame for a better judgement of the histogram. I adjusted the shadows and highlights using a levels adjustment layer. The photo had a visible digital haze and lacked some contrast. By adjusting the levels the clarity has become better and the colors more vibrant.
The original was very under exposed, with only information in the shadow area of the histogram. I have adjusted the highlight slider in the levels so that it would meet the available information. Since it was under exposed this causes a fair amount of noise. I did a quick noise reduction on the photo.
The original is under exposed. If you look at the histogram, you can see that the bulk of the information is on the left, and that half of it is clipped. There is also a empty space on the right. I adjusted the highlight on the levels using the white point marker as a reference.
