| Intro: | Hallo. My name is Andreas Mostert. Afrikaans and Dutch speaking people can call me Dries, but for the rest of the world this is apparently too difficult to pronounce. I was born in Gauteng in South Africa, then at an early age moved to a small town in the Free State (not far from Gerhard's). I literally grew up in the wild as my father was crazy about the wild. He would take us to these places at every opportunity. Later in my adult life I started travelling quite a bit myself in and around South Africa, with my favourite places being the Kalahari, Botswana and, of course, the Free State. Currently my job keeps me in Canada and probably will do so for a while yet, so I miss my Africa! But Canada is great too! This is the second largest country in the world and the sights are magnificent! As far as photography goes I started about 15 years ago just after finishing university. Back then I bought a Canon T60 body and one lens (35-80mm). Over the years I upgraded to the EOS system. Digital only in the digicam sector yet, but certainly in the market for a digital SLR. Although I'm not a professional some of my pics over the years were used in several Northern Cape/Green Kalahari tourism publications. Certainly did not make any money from it, but it is nice for the ego. |
