(20012) [2006-09-09 12:52:33] [1] | In Photoshop Elements, I used Enhance: Shadows and Light to darken the highlights and subsequently to adjust the mid-tones.
I used the clone tool at 10% and passed through the glaring white spots with neighboring tones.
Finally I used Enhance: Brightness and Contrast, and lowered the brightness just a tad more.
I hope that helped with the strong light issue.
