 Nikon Capture NX2 | mala-zaba
(1037) [2008-08-01 06:44:23] [1] | I made this workshop with Nikon Capture NX2, trial of 60 days. I know you have Canon camera, but Capture NX with U-points technology is very fast for make minor change on a picture.
1) Sahdow protection +10 on the picture.
2) D-Lighting (HQ mode) +30,1,60 with a Selection control point on the bird.
3) Unsharp mask 16,5,4 on the picture.
Voilà! |

 Tone Adjustment | blue_river
(1105) [2007-07-16 14:32:02] [1] | | I simply lowered the medium tones and shadows of the image in Arcsoft Photostudio in order to decrease the look of noise in this photo, hope you like it! |

 Double-crested Cormorant (1) bullybeef53
(644) |
 crop, Levels | diverjohn
(620) [2007-04-10 08:37:31] | This crop gave a horizontal / landscape image. Getting rid of the foreground makes the birds more interesting. As well I adjusted LEVELS to improve the colour gamut.
Another way to crop would be to get rid of the entire right hand side and have the spread-wing bird in a vertical / portrait format. |

 Maybe a Pterodactyl (1) bullybeef53
(644) |
 Crop, hue-sat, levels | diverjohn
(620) [2007-04-08 05:58:44] [1] | crop away the foreground and get a fresh image.
I like the bird against a nearly white background, and its position in the lower corner, looking over the water.
Cropping is a good and easy way to change a photograph's impact or feeling. With the ground removed, the bird could be anywhere near the water.
Could've gone to black-and-white too, but that's another workshop. |

What do you think? |
