| Intro: | Nature is my inspiration, my healer and my window to the Divine.She gladdens the heart and quickens the pulse and fills the lungs with the breath of Life. As a young man I used a gun and did some barbaric things to the innocent creatures that flew and walked.Boys need to be toughened and all that rot. Now when I point and shoot, it is with my camera. Hunters talk about the thrill of the chase, the outsmarting of the animal. Obviously they never tried getting close to a wild creature in order to take a photograph- one shot only - before the moment is gone.It is just as challenging, just as satisfying- one still has the trophy, the photo- minus the blood, minus the suffering, minus the extinction of life. I shall finish my introduction with the words of Samuel T. Coleridge: And then my heart with pleasure fills, And dances with the daffodils. My intention is to capture in my fumbling way the dance of nature and to hopefully make your heart beat with pleasure, however briefly. |
