I did a new composition of your fine picture.
I have "borrow" a bit from the picture to add some more space to the left, and I correct the levels for some more contrast and add a small black border.

It look good on my monitor but I think it will
be to bright and maybe slightly over-sharpen on yours.

it for a better composition.

a saw you want the BG untouced but the bird a bit brighter, it's quite easy. Since the BG was clean and wiht the same light and colour, use the lasso tool to mark the B G and the inverse the marking and the use Shadow/Highlight tool on the bird.
I sharpen it slightly too. Bur I prefer the WS that Harry did. the light os m ore natural there.

I tried to improve your bull but it's easy.
I correct the xposure, used S/H-filter and levels
and then I did a small sharpen.
I used PS CS3 for the WS.
It's not that good but I think it's a bit better.
