I played wiht your nice picture.
I add a very snall contrast, adjust the shadows with the S/H toll to get little more details in the dark plumage and finaly I slightly sharpen it. Not any bit adjustments, nbut now it look better on my CRT-monitor.

You can do a lot PP of JPG in the RAW-converter like change the WB as I did here. And the new curve-tool is also quite to use for a bit more contrast, I did use that toold too, Back in PS I add some more light with the S/H tool.
The picture looks a bit differnt but maybe not better.

I',m testing the new CS3 bete and you can do some corrections of JPG's in the RAW-converter.
I tried to reduce the purple CA in the Raw-converter but there is a lot left. I PS I used noiseware pro 4.0 to reduce some noise and finaly I sharpen with Focus Magic(a test of a new plug-in).
Maybe it's a bit better but I'm not sure.

This is wath I did to your nice picture.
Correct the levels by finding the black and white point. Add 5% shadow with the filter S/H in PS and finaly I sharpen it.
