Hi

I sharpened the picture a little bit and on the way of processing I tried to eliminate as much as I could the purple fringing, hope you will like it.

Hi

I hope that I succeeded with my workshop to explain myself.
I did correction in the levels with the high bar and the low bar in the RGB mode, this helped with the blue cast and then I did a 'fine tuning' on the curves (also on the RGB) for the contrast, I hope you will like it.

Hi

I tried to do something.
My way of handling purple fringing is by selecting colours range and then point on the purple tone, first you must enlarge the picture in PS to see the pixels, sometimes you need to select colour range couplr of times before continueing to be more accurate, after that I did desaturate to get rid the unwanted purple on the edges.
Second, I did a little crop to 'move' the subject from the center of the frame and to eliminate the distracting branches in the left.
What do you think?

Hi

I tried to improve a little bit the picture.
First, I played with the levels to try and soften the flash light.
Second, I cropped the right side, sorry about your signature, because of the blured 'thing' over there, and third I did something that I am not doing to my picture, but it was worth trying, I fixed the ey that was very affected by the flash.
I hope you will like it.

Taken from: http://www.earthlife.net/insects/aphids.html

Aphids are part of the Superfamily Aphidoidae and are described as small (1-10 mm) soft bodied insects with or, more commonly without, wings. They possess a proboscis which originates between and behind the forelegs, their antennae has two thick basal segments and a flagellum composed of up to 4 segments, the last of which is divided into a proximal part and a thinner distal part called a 'process terminalis'. They possess two compound eyes and two ocular tubercles made up of three lenses each which are situated behind and above the compound eyes. They have two tarsal segments, the wings when present have only one prominent longitudinal vein. The fifth abdominal segment bears a pair of upward and backwardly pointing tubes on the dorsal surface called siphunculi (cornicles) and a cauda is usually present below and between them on the last abdominal segment.
