| Intro: | I was born in Stockholm in 1953. Now we live in the countryside in the woods in southern Sweden between Vimmerby and Hultsfred. I have a university exam mainly in biology but I work in the IT business since the mid 80:s. Our children are now growing up (19,22 and 24) and we get more time to pick up our old interests of flowers, birds and photography. This last year we have done lots of birding tours all around Sweden. I started with photography at the age of 10 and lay under my bed making contact copies with paper, glass plates and trays of chemicals. In our drawers you can follow the development of cameras these last 40 years..... ;o) Now it is all digital and as keen birders we do a lot of digiscoping through our fantastic Zeiss 85T*FL Diascope. We use a Fuji Finepix E900 for digiscoping. However we do mostly use a Canon 40D DSLR and a telephoto lens from Canon, a 300/f4 L IS USM for those beautiful birds. Quite often there will sit a Canon 1.4 II extender between the 300 lens and the body making it to a total 672 mm in 35 mm analogue equivalent. I don't like the thought of wild birds or other animals in captivity. The only excuse for this is to save endangered species from going extinct. So therefore am I not normally interested in photos of captured animals, or animals in zoo:s or domesticated animals in parcs etc. However I might comment photos that are not technically perfect but has something interesting or beautiful to show. It will normally require an good and interesting note as well to grab my attention.........
