| Intro: | Hi. My name is George and I have been into photography since I was 16. I really enjoy it and I must say that I am impressed by many of the submissions on this site. I can spend HOURS flipping through the pages looking at them all. I appreciate all of the critiques that are written and I am really glad that I found this web site. Most of my photo's have typically been for personal viewing...but I really do like sharing my images with others as well as seeing the world through their eyes :o) Some words of wisdom I have learned throughout my years of taking photo's: 1. Always have some kind of a camera on me. Photo back packs are great for transporting your gear around. At a minimum I have my nikon coolpix in my backpack. 2. Never shoot straight on (for the most part). Low angles with mini-tripods, shooting from the hip. Whatever you want to try and experiment with! 3. There are no rules to photography :o) 4. If you don't take a photo, how can you share the memory?? 5. Want to learn more about photography and take better pictures in the process? Why not: Subscribe to photographic publications (i.e. Outdoor Photographer), Take a photography class at your local college/university, etc. 6. The average photographer can expect to take hundreds of photos and only get a few "keepers". Don't get discouraged. Keep on shooting! 7. Photography...it's all a matter of perspective :o) 8. We all have that little voice in our head that says: "Hey you, stop and take a picture". Always, and I do mean ALWAYS, listen to your little voice...it will never steer you wrong :o) It may take you to some pretty odd places...but this will enable you to take some amazing photos! |
