(2530) [2008-05-12 09:54:35] [1] | Hi what I have done is using photoshop elements , adjusted color curves to lighten shadows then for backlighting , both effected mostly the dark background. I then used magic wand selection tool set at tolerance 15 to pick the background colors , the lighting increase posterized it somewhat so I blurred it using average. unfortunately the average blurring also took a small section of its far hind leg so I repaired the using the cloneing stamp.
average blurring returns a very monotone background , from my workshop here this monotone back ground could also easily be selected and used to create an adjustment layer to apply to your original image making it possible to affect only the background and leaving intact the beautiful rich color of the butterfly in the original image. I have yet to gain much experience in the use of such adjustment layers so am not really qualified to take that next step.
thank you for allowing post to workshop option , and I hope my tinkering with your beautiful image meets with your approval.
Regards

(10035) [2007-08-28 09:26:07] [7] | Hi Goutham
I merely selected the darker areas of the owl's face and body and applied a bit of "Levels" adjustment. Then just for the fun of it I increased the "Saturation" +8, and applied "Smart Sharpen" at 50% and 0.3 radius.
Hope you don't mind my attempt too much.
Best regards

Then used NeatImage free for noise reduction.

(1930) [2007-06-16 10:23:42] [2] | Hi Goutham,
I saw your photo and I like it alot but when I looked at it I straight away noticed the the little black dots on the photo from dust on your cameras CCD. I am always looking for these spots on my images. I change lense alot sometimes and its unavoidable that dust gets in your camera. I change lens as fast as possible and always hold the camera aperture down to reduce the possibilty of dust getting inside the camera, but it gets in there. I can't always get my camera cleaned and air in a spray can won't always remove it so I revert to photoshops clone tool. If you haven't used clone tool it allows you to copy an area of your photo to paste over another part of your photo and is perfect to remove unwanted spots and marks on your photos. The good thing about clone tool is you can adjust the brush size and density of the brush to make those most subtle of changes.
Sorry ranting on but its a good subject for a workshop. I hope you don't mind,
Regards,
Matt |
