(163) [2008-08-12 18:52:42] | | While I lost some of the green foilage and dark volcanic rock in the foreground, the cone penetrating through the clouds and their unique formations, as well as the blue sky, are brought out. This is the first workshop posting I've ever done, so I'm afraid I didn't pay attention very closely to the technical aspects of what I did while I did it. Using Photoshop, though, I used Image>Adjustments>Brightness/Contrast to create the feel I tried to describe in my original post regarding this image. Depending upon the feel you aimed to get as the photographer, you may or may not like this suggestion over the original photo. GREAT WORK, Lowell. TFS. - Kelly |

Another Perspective | | ldhendrix (46) [2006-12-17 13:32:02] | | In response to Karin's request to see the lava flow in perspective to the other climber's, I am simply posting an unprocessed alternate view that also shows the field in relation to the crest which is above the upper right limit of the photo. If you look closely behind my step-daughter (background) you make out climbers going to the summit. Above left of my wife (foreground), along the ridge line, you can also make out some hot spots still glowing red from the heat of the lava. |

hue & saturation | | ldhendrix (46) [2006-04-24 22:04:01] | | Based on the critiques, I played around with the hue & saturation levels util I came up with this. I also darkened it just a bit. Let me know whether it is improved or overdone. Thanks for the tips!!! |
