Hope that this does not upset you. I took the liberty of removing those ugly manmade blocks on the side of the road and the ENTRANCE to the sewer.
To make it look like an airport RUNWAY, in accordance to your title, I also concealed the
sprinklers.
Sharpened and frammed to suit.
To start with, your image is GREAT and very well focused; this allowed me some latitude to work on it.
Hope you like it. It is, afterall, your, YOUR great creation.

So at cost of photorealistic look, I ran it through NeatImage to reduce noise and sharpen, used USM to sharpen some more, added some contrast (esp. middle and low tones) via curves, changed crop to use the nice swirl with the female duck at the endpoint for composition.
Hope you like this variation of your picture. You capture a very nice scene, well spotted.

Curvers and duplicate | | andtine (38) [2006-01-12 15:30:17] [1] | I firstly made a small curve adjustment to help the contrast. Secondly to trial to deal with some of the blown out areas, I copied the main picture as a layer, then changed the mode to multiply and using the eraser tool rubbed out all the areas on the copy that looked to dark. To finish I added a 1cm black border.
