(9137) [2006-05-15 23:25:03] | Unfortunately I do not know much about these animals. I just thought I'd share with you this colourful view of the tank where I photographed the angelfish. The big orange coral is approximately 600mm in diameter.
Maybe somtime I will do a bit of research on corals and update this note. |

 Miss Piggy | loot
(9137) [2006-05-14 03:22:37] | Actually I did not disclose the true reason for this mandrill’s outburst. It was only when he saw my wife, the original Miss. Piggy that he nearly done himself a hernia. Between his screams of laughter and the tears he must have felt utmost sympathy and empathy on my behalf.
Oops, I think I am sleeping in the dog-box for the next month or two.
Regards
Loot
PS. Actually she is quite beautiful and I love and admire her plenty. |

Kia Ora - Welcome | loot
(9137) [2006-05-08 16:51:39] | Some time back I read in one of Janice's postings about Kia Ora a Maori welcoming phrase which she often use as it is her favourite greating. So, great was my surprise, this weekend when returning from Pretoria, I found this signboard next to the road.
The photo was taken approximately half way between Vrede and Memel, ± half way home to Empangeni. It seems to be a cattle farm where they keep "Drakensberger" type live stock and this farmer obviously knows something about this Maori greeting as well.
I just had to share it with Janice and also with the rest of our TN friends, in order to say you are always most welcome.
Regards

I should have used this methode first (WS picture to illustrate). It's a lot easier than DOS word processesor, and it's visual.
Primary colors: RED GREEN BLUE

 Reptile City | loot
(9137) [2006-05-02 18:17:53] | The photo shows Rob McGeer with two of the eight crocodiles in the pen. The one you can see on the posting was lying just to the left of this photo and is about 3.5 metres in length.
After I took this photo Rob grab the croc, which is lying directly in front of him, by the tail which made the giant disappear, with lightning speed, into the water. |

 Thulasihleka Bird Sanctuary | loot
(9137) [2006-04-28 01:27:03] | I've posted this photo just to give you folks a view of the pan and the hide which I frequently visit to do some birding. Obviously and hopefully to capture some photographs of either birds or insects.
This is showing just a small corner piece of the pan and was taken from one of two other hides that are mounted on the bottom of an overhead conveyor belt. This hide is ±20 metre from ground level and the conveyor is a link between a fertiliser company and the dry goods harbour which can be seen at the top part of the photo.
I will include a photo of one of these high rise hides as a workshop, for a posting of some insect or bird in the near future.

(19714) [2006-04-11 19:45:38] [5] | I just used the clone tool to erase the tree.
Then I just sharpened it a tad and put in a bit more contrast.
Maybe I should have left the sharpness and contrast alone.
You would know what the real bird looked like.
I have really bad eyes. : P |
