He is one spunky little fellow, not to mention handsome! |

(19714) [2007-08-13 17:17:25] | | I posted this shot of the tree so you can see the fruits from which the name is derived. Note the red flower on the top of the tree. |

 Levels Adjustment | manyee
(19714) [2007-07-07 00:56:20] [1] | | I just brought in the sliders on either slide of the histogram over the flat lines, and that is what I got. I don't know if it is true to what you saw. |

 Levels Adjustment | manyee
(19714) [2007-06-03 03:20:09] | I did not see the flower, so I cannot really tell which version reflects the truer colors, but it seems to me that there is a light yellow cast on your image. I adjusted the levels and added a bit of contrast and sharpness. I also cropped it a tad to get rid of the vertical stem on the left, which I found a bit distracting.
What do you think?

 Contrast and Sharpening | manyee
(19714) [2007-06-03 02:42:39] | | I just adjusted the contrast and did a couple of passes with the sharpening tool. I also decreased the saturation of the green a little bit. What do you think? |

 Cropping | manyee
(19714) [2007-05-26 16:42:02] [3] | I cropped away some of the pebbly ground that was not really adding much to the composition. That also moved the subject off the center.
I adjusted the levels to brighten it a bit and made a pass with the sharpening tool.
Finally I adjusted the size to show a bigger insect. I only went to 700 pixels on the long side (instead of the maximum of 800 allowed) because the sharpness would have been compromised.
Hope you like it. : ) |

 Contrast Adjustment | manyee
(19714) [2007-05-19 13:50:05] [1] | Using Photoshop Elements, I adjusted the levels (moved the sliders in the histogram towards the middle over the flat lines).
I used the dodge tool to lighten up the eye, and did a quick pass of the sharpening tool.
Hope you like it. : ) |

 Histogram | manyee
(19714) [2007-05-19 12:28:09] [1] | In Photoshop Elements, I went to Enhance::Lighting::Levels.
I brought the left and right sliders in the histogram towards the middle, which increased the contrast. I tried to sharpen it a bit.
Hope you like it. |

 Level Adjustments | manyee
(19714) [2007-05-15 01:41:09] [1] | Using Photoshop Elements, I went to "enhance::Adjust Lighting::Levels". I moved the sliders over the flat lines on the histogram from the left and the right. Then I adjusted for the midtones. Lastly I made a pass with the sharpening tool.
I was trying to bring out the colors more.
Hope you like it.
