The male's antennae are even much longer than the females. In such a tiny antenna there are muscle cells, blood and a trachea to bring air right into the tip.

Paddling flight technique

This Moth fly at my porch (Diptera; Psychodidae; Schmetterlingsmücke) is 3 mm long. It's flying technique is unique, using wings as paddles in the viscous air. The hairs smoothen the turbulences.

Lighten up in PS with "Shadow/Highlight". I admit that it looses some of the mystic quality the original has. I hope you like this workshop version.
