Hope you don't mind... I took the liberty to lighten the head of your beautiful shot of the Great Tit. I selectively lightened the head, added a tiny, very little, bit of gamma, contrast, and sharpening overall. Hope you like it.

2. Color balance- lower yellow and green, add some blues.

Tried to make a perfect shot even better. In CS3 adjusted highlights/shadows and then in Focus Magic plug in removed out-of-focus blur. I hope I got even more details.
