Crop the photo to loose the top part down to the snake's body
Crop the photo to reduce the lower f/g to create a diagonal across the narrower scene...

Now scale the photo up by 20%... < perfect fit>
while using compression quality factor 99!

Made adjustments to contrast and colour,
to give deeper colour. This brings out the markings on the snake. The white reflection on the fish is still pretty much there.
