I opened the levelsin PS then I used the 'set white point', after that I clicked on the white paper near the gerbil and clicked OK to complete the action.
To soften this action I faded the last action for about 80 %.
I hope you will like it. |

I'm not a photohsop specialist here but I try diffrents things. I adjusted highlight and shadow in PS CS, then I use the fonction "lisser" in Photofiltre. Sorry, I have the French version of Photofiltre. I think it is a bit better, what do you think?

(4046) [2006-07-27 11:13:00] [9] [+] | Hi Paul, This kind of post-processing work isn't really allowed on TN, however it's a beautiful image you have here so this workshop helps rescue it for your own happiness :-) I duplicated the image, on the original used the rectangular marquee tool to select the wing area I wanted (the whole upper section of the image). I cut it (ctrl-C) and pasted as a new layer (ctrl-V).
On the duplicated image, I extended the canvas at the bottom by about 500 pixels. Back to the first image, I selected the new layer (hold ctrl and click on the layer thumbnail in the layers palette), copied it (ctrl-C) and pasted it into the duplicated image (ctrl-V). I then selected the new layer (as above), used the free transform function to rotate it anti-clockwise a little and move it into place.
I flattened the image, went over the line on the wing with the healing brush, cloned the sky back in and lastly I loosely selected the lighter section of the lower wing, feathered the selection by about 10 pixels and adjusted midtones in the levels palette to slightly darken it.
It's not perfect but this took about five minutes, more time spent would produce a much better result. Hope this is useful to you. |

Although the detail on the wing is fabulous, the real majesty is in the face, so I would be inclined to crop the shot to focus on the face and to overcome the missing wing. Please do let me know what you think of this. |
