(618) [2007-10-07 20:13:23] [1] | | Hi, Trevor -- I sharpened this for you in two passes, using the free photo-editing program, The Gimp. The first was with the Sharpen/Smart Redux plug-in (setting 2.00 for USM radius and 1.00 for amount). The second was the regular USM off the Filter-Enhance menu (which I normally do after final sizing), with a radius of 1.2 and an amount of 0.40. Technical explanations for this can be lengthy, but to keep it short, your camera doesn't always render the images it captures with realistic sharpness. A good sharpening regimen can salvage a great deal. |
