 Zebra Grazing (48) soccer

 Framing, colours correction | thistle
(9264) [2006-06-16 04:18:31] [2] | I used Corel Photopaint.
I add some space in front of the zebra and cut a bit behind. I think now the picture is better balanced. I shapened the shot, add contrast and some red & yellow colours to make the picture a little warmer. I also blurred the BG using blur brush and added a black frame. |

(9313) [2006-06-02 18:52:47] [8] | Hi Sheriff
As I said, your photo (IMHO) needed a bit of brightness and saturation. You be the judge if this PP have added value to your posting.
Post Processing done:
I determined the 'Black & White' points with the 'Threshold Tool' and then I applied the 'Black & White' points with the 'Levels Tool'.
The next step was to select the eagle and the branches with the 'Magic Wand Tool' and I applied 'Brightness' +23, 'Contrast' +8, and 'Saturation' +13. I also applied the 'USM' filter at 250, 0.2 & 0 settings.
I inversed the selection and with the 'Colour Variations' facility I added some 'Darkness' +2 and 'Increase Blue' +1. Then I 'Cloned' out the dirt spot in the left hand top corner area. Lastly I removed the noise in the BG with 'NeatImage' at the default settings.
I hope you like it.
Friendly regards

(34737) [2006-06-02 09:43:40] [2] | Hi Sheriff..Let's see if I can remember this stuff :)
Slight crop for composition adjustment..
I selected the BG and + sat. a tiny bit, and a .3 pixel layer of gaussian blur added. I also removed a stray spot, upper left frame..
Inverted the selection and < shadow 10% with some light USM for-the-web sharpening..
That's it!

Lightening up, contrast, sharpening. | peter_stoeckl
(9375) [2006-06-02 07:19:11] [3] | Very good data available - so I tried a little workshop to lighten up the body a bit more and to increase sharpness that might have been softened by downsize to the web.
Photoshop Elements
1) "Aufhellblitz" - lightening up flash: +20
2) Contrast increased: + 12
3) Sharpening filter all over.
4) Selective noise reduction on BG by magic wand tool selection (tol. 10%).
Hope you enjoy. |

Smart Sharpen or Unsharp Mask | flagman
(2381) [2006-06-02 05:49:32] | I use Adobe Photoshop CS2 which has a 'Smart sharpen' filter. I used this and used a setting of 500% on a radius of 0.3 and used the 'more accurate' option.
If you don't have the same program, most image editing software have an 'unsharp mask' option which will give you more or less the same effect. The key to sharpening is to use a fairly small radius, I usually use between 0.3 and 0.5, then adjust the percentage until you're happy with it. |
