(24475) [2007-09-10 06:29:35] | | The thistles have almost stopped flowering here, only a few small ones remain in flower. The normal size of a flower is that of the top one so then you may be able to judge the size of the moths. |

smart blur and hand blur | Silke
(5398) [2007-08-16 13:34:54] [3] | Hi Ulla
I hope you won't mind if I try a small workshop to test my hand here, as much for my interest as anyone else's.
I thought I detected a bit of noise in the leaf -- just enough to detract from the quality of the butterfly. Interestingly, since I must work on dual monitors which happen to be of different types, the amount of noise varied with the monitor, so it's very easy to miss!
I applied smart blur at a radius of 0.6 and a threshold of 25.0 to the leaf alone. A few remaining bits in the veins were tidied up by hand with the blur tool at high magnification. I set the tool to a pixel size of only two and gently blurred the halo around the leaf and the butterfly as well (still under high magnification.
The difference is almost invisible on one screen and rather subtle on the other here. Can you see any difference on yours?

 Gaussian Blur | fyapici
(6126) [2007-08-06 07:45:59] [1] | I dupplicated the layer and applied gaussian blur to new layer. After I erased with eraser tool main object area. Then merged the layers. Added a little frame and posted.
I hope you like it. :) Greetings |
