Sorry, on the first workshop I put a thin black line around the outside of the border. After looking at the upload, I realized it was not part of your original frame.
I wanted to give a little more sky at top. I used Picnik to crop away your frame and add a little more white frame at top. Then I opened in GIMP and used the eye dropper to select a blue color from top of sky. Then I used the bucket fill to color in the white border I had added to top. Then I took it back to Picnik and reframed it to look as much like your original frame as possible.
I adjusted the levels just a hair especially the shadows with just a tiny bit of highlights to make it slightly more dinamic and since the notes talk about their colorful plummage I upped the saturation a little, didn't do much at all
