Small rotation to zoom a tiny bit and level the water somewhat.

(16906) [2007-03-31 11:27:31] [1] | Hello, Annick.
This is what I did through Photoshop CS3:
1) I duplicated the image (Ctrl+J);
2) Sharpness (200/0,8);
3) I erased the background, so that only the bird and the twig remained sharpened;
4) I flattened the image.
5) I used the blur tool all over the background, in order to get rid of some noise - Neatimage would also produce a similar effect.
I hope you like it.
Cheers.

I saturated a bit.
Removed noise.
Framed with black.
Hope you like it and do not mind my tnkering with your pic. |

(5506) [2007-01-31 12:42:50] [3] | A slight underexposure is always useful, because you can bring up to live the laying information there, specially easy when saving in RAW.
Just selected only the background and increase the exposure there.
Then pop up the midtones in the beak with the dodge tool, and a little on the eye also.
The backgroung got lighter now, but I think that still makes a good contrast with the lighter tones of the bird. |

(14396) [2007-01-26 12:14:25] [2] | | I really love this shot and wanted to see if I could do a little "creative" sharpening of the end of the beak...so I tackled it just for fun. I used some cloning, sharpening, burning etc. I also brightened the eye just a bit so that the viewer is drawn there a little more than to the end of the beak. This would all work better on a full resolution image of course. |
