First, I applied an Unsharp Mask at 175 pixel radius and at 20%, which got rid of some of the barely perceptible haze.
Then, I went to LEVELS and moved the middle slider to the right just a tiny bit.
I then boosted the hue/saturation by 10%
Finally, I sharpened the photo a bit.

(3056) [2005-02-01 17:23:43] [2] | Willie, I hope you don't mind, I wanted to brighten his feathers a bit since the tree was shadowing him.
I used the magic selector and made a new layer of just the dark front part of him, I increased the mid-tones and contrast on that, then merged it back into the whole.
Then I increased the mid-tones and contrast of the whole photo and sharpened just +5.
Still a little dark, but maybe a bit better.
I enjoyed "working" on him, thanks for posting! |

(2083) [2004-12-29 02:46:05] | | This is the hole covered with silk membrane which the baboon spider uses for his home. The insides of the hole are also silk lined. I presume that when insects etc walk over the hole the spider is alerted and he attacks from underneath.. Very clever. |
