(9137) [2006-05-28 23:26:48] [6] | Hi Jose
Thanks for your reply and for uploading the original photo. Actually it had a very nice BG, apart from the soccer posts and the 3 poles at the top right-hand corner. I did a quick workshop on it just to experiment with the BG and the foliage. For this purpose I did not bother about the poles and the post as I did not attempt to do a full workshop on a workshop. Shucks, it sounds rather confusing, but I think you would understand what I meant.
I selected the butterfly with the 'Magic Wand' tool and applied the 'USM' filter at 250, 0.2 & 0 settings. Then I inverted the selection and applied +15 'Saturation' and reduced "Brightness' by -15 with a little bit of 'Contrast' at +3. After that I reduce the noise in the BG with 'NeatImage' at its default settings. I then deselected the vegetation foliage in the foreground and applied 'Gaussian Blur' to the BG at 0.4.
You actually had a very good shot right from the start and it would have made a perfectly good posting as an original.
Sorry about the antennae, I can see what you said. No 'motion' sickness there. It just looked strange in your posting as it seemed like it was made broader than the other one and the line does not look straight.
Anyway, I did not post this workshop for credits or usefulness or any other reasons, but purely out of curiosity and the experiment.
Best regards
Loot |

(2831) [2006-01-17 23:22:51] | | The original photo is this one (scanned). It shows OE at left side, just because the flash was at that side and the mussel conch had reflected it too much. You see that I posted it here in a wrong way. First I´ve posted the photoshop version and after it the original! Sorry! I crop the image to take off the black parts. So I used the saturation options to get the real red colours and it help me with better exposition when I change the yellow to red with less light. I add sharpness and contrast. |
