Sharpness is a tricky subject - as with so many aspects of photography it's really down to personal taste up to a point. If haloes are clearly visible, then it's obviously overdone - if they aren't, then it's hard to say for certain! I experimented with a number of different settings and quantities, this was my preference. You might be right though...
