After reading all those fine comments on this "Golden Eagle image after an absence of 1/2 a year it feels like coming home again and I don't feel like a stranger at al :)
The eagle was feeding on an Arctic Hare.
Shot has been taken on top of a hil and although it was winter time in Norway, there was'nt much snow by that time.
What you see just behind the eagle is a fallen tree.
