Hello Peter,
In their monograph on the Lycaenopsis Group, Eliot & Kawazoe (without doubt in this case Eliot) say about A. ripte: "The heavily marked underside, with a spot in the middle of the forewing cell, is distinctive." AS this individual is devoid of this cell spot I presume it to be puspa. Neither in my pictures nor in my collection of Brunei specimens have I found ripte. The closest species in markings that I have for sure seen there is Callenya lenya, and that remains a less likely possibility. Best wishes.
