My friend, who manages a camera store in Peterborough, contacted Canon for me while we were still at Welney. They are pretty sure it will not be a difficult job - it fell onto wet grass, so other damage should be minimal. I think I slightly pulled a few muscles whilst trying to regain my balance - I should be OK - I hope! :)
