Well, apparently there are others with even stronger nerves than mine... The printout given to us at the gate suggested that we pick up some pelleted food and HAND-FEED the animals throughout the park! Furthermore, they advise you to get out of your car first to feed them! Fine for some of the species there, but a Bison bull?? Even the red deer could be an injury issue, especially because it was roaring season when we visited, and the stags were watchful over their girls!
So, truth be told, while I DID take some risk for this shot, I was NOT foolish enough to attempt to hand-feed him... and my husband was ready with the car if he should decide to rise or charge me... regardless, it was exhilarating to be so near this massive and majestic beast!
