No way, are you kidding me?? I love critiques and tips on how to improve. You're spot on about using aperture priority. I suppose I must have forgotten to set my ISO back to something higher. Honestly, I thought I had it at 100. Some tips I had read about getting the best and finest detail were to use ISO 100 at f8...no wider. I try to do that as much as possible when shooting wildlife. Unfortunately if the light ain't there...well, I'm not going to get the results I'm looking for. Sheesh, and I was even using a tripod this time - but he must have moved his head ever so slightly, or I focused on something other than his eyes. I think the sun is coming out for a while here, so maybe the Heron will be there and give me another chance.

Something I don't know much (anything, really) about is metering mode. Does that have much of an impact here? I will do the research - but just thought I'd pick your brain a bit.

Anyway - LOVE your work these days, my friend!! You give me something to aspire to!
