My trip to Muriwai wasn't as I though it would be. Our young grandson was riding on his mountain bike (he's 3.7 yrs old) and I thought the ride was close to Muriwai itself. But no, it was in the Woodhill forest and it was miles up the beach and we never got anywhere near the beach at all.
But it was a fun day and all the riders got a medal. No placings and all children under 6 have to have an adult with them on the ride through tracks in the pine forest. There must have been about 500 children there.
