Vienna: It's a two million big city with the hell of a lot of noisy car traffic, and some bulding companies in cooperation with local authorities that are busily spoiling a medieval town's skyline of domes and spires with 200m skyscrapers in order to make it look like a provincial capital somewhere in the midwest prairies.
As with almost every metropolis in the world one of the best things to do is to escape into nature. One of Vienna's main benefits besides its concert halls and the cool and clear Alpine well water supply is the fact that the city is closely surrounded by a diversity of splendid nature.
