Hi Doug,
Thank you. Last year in my first experience with the hummingbirds in Ecuador, I tried fast shutter speeds without flash (as the internal flash of 20D was useless), I was able to freeze the wings too. but this time I tried with external flash + slower shutter speed,result: birds came out sharper,well focused and well lighted in all the in-flights but wings are blurred :o) I think using multiple flashes (I only have one) may give better results.
