At this point, the Lake Ontario is too wide to see the other side, so it is very different indeed from the lovely little lakes in the U.K. It is also b****y cold! I found the sea off Bournemouth in late April to be warmer than Lake Ontario in mid-August!
As for me getting up and about -- I am getting quite excited now -- I can manage to walk for 10 minutes without pause -- so it shouldn't be long now before I am properly mobile :)
