Hi Markus,
I assume that you know what a grad ND does so I'm not going to explain it. The improvement of the Lee filter compared with the cheaper Cokin filters is probably best noticed for the color cast. They leave a pinkish, magenta color cast. The Cokin grad ND filters are actually grey grad filters and not Neutral Density. You also notice it at the clear part of the filter. The Lee filters are really clear while the Cokin seem to darken the image a little. The transition is also better and can hardly be noticed. I still need to do some more experimenting with the new filter, but the shots taken so far show that this is a big improvement.
