Yes, i do get barrel distortion on my Sigma 17-70 at the 17mm end all the time. Even a few weeks ago i was going back to some of my England photos and most seascapes have the horizon in the frame. It's clearly visible in almost all pictures that it's curved. Fortunately, it's an easy fix - about a +6 in the distortion menu from PS usually cuts it - and you don't lose too many pixels with this. Sometimes however, it can be a bit worse.
Is it the same for you?
By the way...as i was looking through those photos i found some i took with your great Sigma 10-20...boy what a difference with those extra 7mm...As somebody smart once said: "I've got to get me one of those!" :)
